RAIA: Canacona Sports and Cultural Club defeated Fr Agnelo YSC, Paroda to enter the quarterfinals of the Marcus Mascarenhas Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Sarzora Sports Club and played at Chinchinim Church ground, on Tuesday.
Alric Barreto scored two early goals for Canacona Sports and Cultural Club in the 8th and 10th minutes, but these were equalised by Sloawn Clement and Macloyd D’Costa for Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda.
As the match progressed into the second half, Chaitan Kamorpant scored the third goal for Canacona Sports and Cultural Club in the 38th minute.
Alric Barreto was awarded the man-of-the-match, presented by Valentino Baratto, former sarpanch of Chinchinim.
