MAPUSA: Cortalim Villagers managed to edge past Dempo SC 2-1 in the GFA Boys U-13 Division I League match played at Ella ground, Old Goa, on Saturday.
Vawn Ferrao netted a brace scoring in the 10th and 30th minute of the first session. On crossing over, Dempo SC lads managed to pull a goal through Jess Gomes in the 59th minute of play.
In another match, Clube de Salgaocar thrashed Pax of Nagoa SC 7-0 to register a fluent win at Nagoa panchayat ground, on Saturday.
Casroy Fernandes netted a hat-trick, Snehil Singh scored a brace, while Shornal Dias and Nathan Carvalho scored a goal each for Clube de Salgaocar.
United Club of Utorda scored a 4-1 win over Vaddem Sports Club in the Mormugao Zone match played at Tilak Maidan, Vasco.
Leading by a solitary goal scored by Mohin Khan, whose attempt from outside the box deflected in off an UC Utorda defender, Vaddem SC were swept away in the second half in nine minutes with a three-goal blitz by the opponents. UC Utorda scored through Manuel Cardozo (44th minute), Heggan Cardozo (46th & 90th minute) and Domnic Michael (52nd minute).
