RAIA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, edged past Navelim Sporting Club 4-1 in the final to emerge champions in the 2nd Betalbatim Villagers Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Betalbatim Sporting Club at the Betalbatim panchayat ground, recently.
Francis Andrade stole the limelight scoring two goals, while Rishabh Karapurkar and Elroy Barreto scored a goal each for Don Bosco Oratory. Earlier, Prestly Gomes gave an early lead to Navelim Sporting Club.
Fr Jose Arvind Columbano de Adriao Furtado, parish priest of Remedies Church, Betalbatim, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Betalbatim Sarpanch Anthony Fernandes, Assistant Parish Priest Fr Agapito D’Cunha, Goa Football Association Vice-President Anthony Pango, GFA Excutive Members Cosme Oliveira and Andrew Ferrao.
