FC Sanquelim hold Assonora Utd; Siddeshwar SC trounce Kelbai SC

MAPUSA: FC Sanquelim came from a goal down to hold Assonora United FC to a 1-1 draw in the GFA's Third Division league Bardez Zone played at Duler stadium here on Thursday.

Both the goals came in the second session of play.

It was Assonora's Pruthviraj Gosavi who drew the first blood in the 82nd minute of play by scoring from the penalty spot, 1-0.

When it looked it was curtains down for Sanquelim colts Arun Paryekar levelled terms in the 92nd minute of play.

At Quitula grounds: Siddeshwar SC trounced Kelbai SC by 4-1 margin.

It was Kelbai unit that stunned their opponents by scoring through Rajendra Naik in the 20th minute of the first session.

On crossing ends Siddeshwar colts were a complete transformed unit where Nikhil Kholkar and Mangesh Bandodkar netted a brace each to give full points for their team.

At Dando ground, Benaulim: United Club of Benaulim and United Boys of Dando Colva battled to a 1-1 stalemate in the Salcete zone. Benaulim’s captain, Osbourne Fernandes, broke the deadlock in the 78th minute, but Colva’s Keegan Fernandes equalised just four minutes later.
