PANJIM: Fr Agnel High School and Higher Secondary School claimed victory in the All-Goa Meccabeus Rodrigues Memorial Football Tournament, winning the U-13 boys and U-17 girls titles, respectively.
In the U-13 boys final, Fr Agnel High School, Pilar, edged out Guardian Angel High School, Curchorem, 4-3 in a dramatic tie-breaker. Individual awards were bagged by Ashish Bavikatti (Best Player), Ashwin Toppo (Best Defender), Princerio Oliveiro (Best Forward), Sekhar Nayak (Best Midfielder), Jonathan Rodrigues (Best Goalkeeper) and Velencio Fernandes (Upcoming Player).
In the U-17 girls final, Fr Agnel Higher Secondary School, Pilar, dominated Our Lady of Piety High School, Collem, with a 3-0 win. Key individual honours were awarded to Kajol Nagaralli (Best Player), Wency D Melo (Best Defender), Saisha Chari (Best Forward), Shayna Shirodkar (Best Midfielder), Payal Chauhan (Best Goalkeeper), and Usha Naik (Upcoming Player).
Chief guest Alvito D’Cunha presented the awards in the presence of Francisco Silveira, Welvin Menezes and Francisca Rodrigues.
