RAIA: Fr Agnel YSC, Paroda, outplayed Santa Cruz Society of Poitomado, Cuncolim, 5-3 via tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of 32nd Curtorim Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Curtorim Gymkhana at Curtorim Church ground, on Monday.
Santa Cruz Society netted the first goal through Anch Patel in the 6th minute. In the 48th minute Fr Agnel YSC equalised through Joy Fernandes.
At the end of regulation time, both teams settled for a 1-1 draw. In the resultant tie-breaker, Fr Agnel YSC proved to be better shooters.
Ankita Dessai, secretary of VP Curtorim, was the chief guest and gave away the man-of-the-match award to Ansh Patil of Santa Cruz Society of Poitomado in the presence of Curtorim Sarpanch Alexinho D’Silva and Milagres Rodrigues, former sarpanch.
