MARGAO: MCC Masters secured a convincing 6-wicket victory over MCC Warriors, in the 10th season of the Members Cricket League T20, organised by Margao Cricket Club (MCC), at the MCC ground, Margao, on Wednesday. The Warriors posted a total of 113 runs in 19 overs. MCC Masters successfully chased the target in 17.4 overs, losing just 4 wickets.
Vikrant Prabhu’s spell, taking 3 wickets for just 8 runs in 3 overs and his crucial 22 runs with the bat, was pivotal to the Masters’ triumph.
Winning the toss, MCC Masters opted to bowl first. For the Warriors, Vrushab Kuncolienkar and Sidhit Raiturkar were the top scorers, contributing 28 and 27 runs respectively. The duo put up a 42-run partnership for the fourth wicket. However, once the partnership was broken, the Warriors’ innings crumbled like a house of cards.
In the bowling department for the Masters, Vikrant was supported by Prasad Ghode, who claimed 3 wickets for 22 runs. Siddhesh Prabhu Alvencar took 1 wicket for 11 runs, while Amlon D’Souza and Paul Fernandes chipped in with 1 wicket each.
In their chase, Paul Fernandes emerged as the top scorer for MCC Masters with a composed 32 runs. He was well-supported by Vikrant Prabhu (22) and Anup Kudchadkar, who played a quick cameo of 21 runs off just 9 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes. Siddhesh Prabhu Alvencar (15) and Dr Prasad Ghode (12) remained unbeaten to steer the Masters to victory.
For the Warriors, Raghuvir Kuncolienkar, Govind Lotlikar, Dr. Rohan Badve, and Vrushab Kuncolienkar picked up a wicket each.
