RAIA: United Club of Verna moved past Carmona Sports Club 6-2 to advance into the quarter-finals of 23rd Fr Basilio Andrade memorial tournament at Musson ground, Majorda, on Tuesday.
Rolan Ferrao put Carmona SC into the lead in the very first minute of the match of a defensive lapse by United Club of Verna. But United Club of Verna equalised through Aglon Abranches in the 13th minute.
Rolan doubled the lead for Carmona SC in the 16th minute but the joy was short-lived as Royson Rego equilised for United Club of Verna.
During the lemon break, the score was 2-2 draw.
In the second half, Eusabio Fernandes of United Club of Verna netted a brace in the 34th and 36th minute.
Later, Mecklito D’Costa of United Club of Verna added his name to the goal scorer’s list in the 40th minute. Immediately, Lenoy Fernandes also added one more goal for United Club of Verna in the 56th minute.
