RAIA: Parish Youth Nuvem downed Dicarpali Sports Club 6-4 via tie-breaker to enter the quarter-finals of 30th Mandopa Cup organised by Mandopa Sports Club at Mandopa ground, on Tuesday.
Dicarpali Sports Club scored the first goal in the very second minute of play when Agnelo Colaco gave a cross pass to Delton Colaco, who ran down and beat the PY Nuvem goalkeeper and placed the ball into the net.
But their joy short-listed as Dicarpali SC defender brought down PY Nuvem player in the danger zone and referee pointed finger to the penalty spot. The penalty kick was well converted by Godfrey Mascarenhas and both teams remained 1-1 draw at the half time
In the second session of play, both teams wasted opportunities that came in their way and made way for penalty shoot out to decide the winner.
In the penalty shoot-out, PY Nuvem scored through Godfrey Mascarenhas, Melwyn Fernandes, Frazer Miranda, Rollan Noronha and Joywin Costa, while William Niasso, Delton Colaco and Lyron Rocha found the net for Dicarpali SC.
Manuel Gomes member of Mandopa SC presented the man-of-the-match award to Delton Colaco of Dicarpali SC.
