MAPUSA: Perpetual Convent School, Navelim, defeated Loyola High School, Margao,  2-0, to lift the 25th Bro DO Slattery Memorial Inter School Boy's U-13 football organised by Regina Mundi School in association with the Allumni of Regina Mundi and played here at their School ground.

Royden Carvalho put Perpetual in the lead while defender Aryan Nevagi put the issue beyond doubt with a well taken penalty kick in the second half.

In the girls U-13 section a standout performance with a hattrick by Goa sub-junior player Ciya Naik helped Regina Mundi School, Chicalim to beat Perpetual Convent School, Navelim by 4-0 margin. Aditi Mhabekar scored the fourth goal.

Individual prizes were awarded to best girl forward - Siya Naik (RMS), best boy forward - Anosh Vaz (PSC, Navelim), best girl midfielder - Malva Mesquita (RMS), best boy midfielder - Sairaj Patil (RMS), best defender - Aryan Nevagi (PSC Navelim), best goalkeeper - Swayam Kurade (Loyola, Margao).  Player of the tournament - Ashnoy Vaz (PSC Navelim).

Bro Sebastian George, headmaster of Regina Mundi School, appealed to the Goa Football Association to extend help to the schools all over Goa which are the support system to provide footballers to the various clubs in Goa, in the age group tournaments.

Caitano Jose Fernandes, President of Goa Football Association made his presence felt at the tournament to show the commitment of Goa Football Association to grassroots football in Goa.

A total of 16 teams of boys and 6 teams of girls drawn from all over Goa took part in this three-day tournament. 

Myron Rodrigues, secretary of Allumni of Regina Mundi, Francisco Nunes, Andrew Ferrao, GFA members from Mormugao, Sister Liberata Fernandes, headmistress of Perpetual Convent School, Navelim, Allan Gonsalves PE teacher of Regina Mundi and  organising secretary, ex-student Ralph Trindade and Manoj Halankar distributed the medals, trophies, certificates and cash prizes.
