Raia SC, SCC Loutolim move into quarters

RAIA: Raia Sporting Club edged past Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, 4-2 via tie-breaker to move in the quarter-finals of 23rd edition of Bro Eulalio Vas memorial football tournament organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, at their ground on Saturday.

Charles Miranda opened the scoreline for Don Bosco Oratory in the 19th minute. As the match progressed, in the 33rd minute, Archilies Fernandes equalised for Raia Sporting Club.

In the resultant tie-breaker, Raia Sporting Club netted through Archilies Fernandes, Melroy Borges and Jovel Cardozo and for Don Bosco Oratory only Rocky Borges was on target.

The man-of-the-match award was presented to Arhicles Fernandes of Raia Sporting Club by Clive Miranda, Don Bosco Oratory player.

Earlier, SCC Loutolim secured a narrow win over Santa Cruz Society of Poitomado, Cuncolim, 2-1 to enter into the quarter-finals.

SCC Loutolim took the lead through Austin Fernandes in the 8th minute, who scored with a powerful shot from the box. Soon in the 9th minute, Aniston D’Silva doubled the lead.

It was Jollyton Fernandes, who pulled a goal back for Santa Cruz Society Poitomado in the 12th minute.

Flager Moraes of SCC Lotoulim was awarded the man-of-the-match by Mahesh Kamble, player of Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda.
