RAIA: Calangute Veterans entered the quarter-finals thrashing Carmona Veterans 4-0 in the Seraulim Veterans Football Cup organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim at church ground, Seraulim, on Saturday. Calangute Veterans entered the field with the intention to attack and scored their first goal in the 12th minute when Samer Chodankar beautifully headed off a corner kick.
The second goal came in the 15th minute when Sebastian Fernandes saw his beautifully placed shot hit the pole and enter the net. Calangute Veterans’ third goal came in the 22nd minute when Sebastian scored his second goal of a pass from Bruno Coutinho, to complete his brace.
At half time, the score read 3-0 in favour of Calangute Veterans.
Calangute Veterans dominated the second half too and scored a class goal of the boots of Sameer when his power-packed shot entered the far corner of the net to take the final score to 4-0.
