MARGAO: The King’s School U-17 girls' football team delivered an outstanding performance in the group stage of the CBSE U-17 Girls' National Football Tournament, advancing to the semi-finals without conceding a single goal.

The team’s defensive prowess, coupled with their relentless attack, saw them score a remarkable 19 goals in the group stage—an achievement that speaks volumes about their talent and preparation.

Led by Sports Director Christian Roldan and supported by The King's School Chairman Melvin Pereira and Director Ligia Pereira, the girls have consistently showcased their skill, teamwork, and dedication.

In the group stage, The King’s School began their campaign with a 1-0 win against St Joseph’s School, Madhya Pradesh, with Valaina Fernandes scoring the match-winner. The team hit their stride in the second game with a 5-0 thrashing of Credence High School, Dubai. Valaina Fernandes scored a hat-trick, while Neha Verlecar and Analee D’Costa netted one goal each.

In the third game, the team crushed Jawahar Higher Secondary School, Tamil Nadu, 7-0. Valaina Fernandes scored another hat-trick, Neha Verlecar added a brace, while Keren D’Souza and Analee D’Costa netted a goal apiece. In their final match, played on Monday, The King’s School comfortably beat Air Force Bal Bharti School, New Delhi, 6-0. The goals were scored by Valaina Fernandes and Neha Verlecar, with two goals each, while Manasvhi Sambhaji and Siddhi Sawant also joined the scoresheet.
