RAIA: Varca Veterans downed Navelim Veterans 2-0 to enter the quarter-finals of Seraulim Veterans Cup organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim at church ground, on Sunday.
The first half ended in a goalless draw after a lot of efforts from both teams to score goals. Navelim playing with their stalwarts namely Orlando Viegas, Frank Fernandes and Sukhedev Arvade were unable to score goals despite being able to penetrate through the Varca defence.
Varca Veterans scored two goals in the second half in similar fashion through Francisco Da Costa and Francisco Carvallo.
Francisco first scored in the 31st minute after dribbling past two defenders and neatly placing the ball into the goal. The second goal came through Francisco just minutes before the final whistle in similar fashion too.
