MAPUSA/RAIA: Verem United Sports Club registered a 4-2 win over El Shaddai S&C in the GFA's Third Division league Bardez Zone, played at Siolim ground, on Wednesday.
El Shaddai stunned their opponents by scoring two goals through Manjunath Vaddar(5th min) and Nitesh Pawar in the first session.
However on crossing ends, Verem United not only equalised but scored two more goals. Yallappa, Craig Menezes (2) and Prabhat Satardekar scored for the winners.
At Moira grounds: United Club of Nerul drubbed Nerul SC by 3-0 margin. Royce Gonsalves scored in the 40th minute of play.
On resumption of play, UC Nerul struck two more quick goals through Huddson D'Mello and Anron Pereira.
At Dando ground, Benaulim: St Anthony’s Club Colva thrashed Varca Sports Club with a commanding 4-0 victory in the Salcete Zone. Riston Gomes shined with a brace, while Vicky Cardozo and Vernon Fernandes also found the back of the net in the comprehensive win.
Colva took control in the first half when Gomes opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, giving his team a crucial lead heading into halftime. After the break, Colva continued to press, and their persistence paid off. Cardozo extended the lead in the 56th minute, and just two minutes later, Gomes secured his brace. Vernon Fernandes capped off the win with a 75th-minute goal, sealing the 4-0 rout.
