RAIA: Wilred Leisure stormed into the semi-finals of 18th All Goa Guirdolim Panchayat Cup defeating Arlem Youth Association, Raia, 6-5, via tie-breaker in the first quarter-final played at Chandor Church sports complex ground, on Tuesday.
The match started with Wilred Leisure having the upper hand with veteran Milagres troubling the Arlem Youth Association defence right from the start.
Arlem Youth Association not to be left behind found their rhythm quickly and in the 10th minute a snap shot taken by Sanjiro was thwarted by Wilred Leisure goalkeeper Johnson Bogot.
Both teams went into breather with a goalless draw. On resumption of play, both teams were equally matched creating chances at both ends but at the end of regulation time, failed to open an account.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Wilred Leisure proved to be better shooters 6-5.
